Devlin's Reaction
Devlin examined Angela Lyrandar as she made her announcement and warning. It had been years since he last saw her, but she still looked the same. Angela possessed a natural air of authority and command that is the envy of other Lyrandar captains. Her uniform looked crisp and clean, the sword and dagger on her belt were polished and gleaming.
"We are here to offer our services to the Lyrandar fleet," Devlin cordially announced. He knew from past experience that Angela was a rigid officer who followed the rules to the letter. That was one of the reasons why the two of them didn't hit it off.
"My crew is quite capable of dealing with such an outbreak," Devlin continued.
... ~~~ ...
"Nothing is certain." Rothaide followed with a gloom that took the somberness of the room to a whole new level. She eyed sternly the captain silently telling him that it was foolish to give these people false hopes. She continued to speak in elvish, oblivious if the others understood. "It is imperative that we establish how is it is spread. Or else it will continue to spread unabated."
She became silent. Nobody knows. The answers to these questions, even to the gods, are shrouded in mystery. Clinging to the symbol of the Mother Goddess (Boldrei). "We must rely on our own wits".
